They chatted a bit as they danced. Not really saying much about themselves but not appearing like they were trying to hide anything. She told Eru her name was Charmalina.
“Hey Eru, want to sit down for a bit?” Charmalina asked with a pretty smile. She certainly looked good, even better when she smiled.
“Sure, would you like something to drink?”
“A girly drink that is on special, please.”
Eru went and got a nice beer for himself and a pink fruity drink for Charmalina. He found the table she was sitting at and sat down across from her.
“Thanks, I am glad that you picked up our message. It was fairly cryptic but I couldn’t risk anyone following you or knowing about it.”
“Someone broke into my house today. Who are you?” Eru asked not sure what he could say without giving up too much information. What if she didn’t work for the council?
“I am like you Eru. I am undercover for the council.” She said some things that the council members had told Eru would be said to verify whether she was speaking the truth or not. They all seemed to check out. Though codes could be stolen. These ones all depended on time, location, date and various other parameters so it would have been very difficult. Eru felt like he could trust her for now and listen to what she had to say.
Smash! Eru heard a bottle getting broke over some one. The music kind of covered it and then the crowd went quiet. Eru turned around to see a guy with a bloody arm punching back the guy with the now broken bottle in his hand.
“Looks like a gang fight, lets get out of here before we get involved or the police come” Charmalina whispered into Eru’s ear. He looked around the exits seemed to be guarded by people. She saw this too, “Well I hope you can fight like they say you can, we are going to have to get out of this building.”
They walked out. She held his hand and leaned close to him. They tried to just walk out through one of the exits.
“Stop there you two” A gang member gruffily said to them.
“We are on our way out” Charmalina said forcefully.
“No one leaves here” The guard spat back at her. She punched him in the gut and as he crumpled over she threw him down onto the ground. Eru didn’t waste a second and went for one of the other members blocking the door. This guy was distracted as he turned to look at the girl sending his buddy to the ground. Eru had his wrist and arm locked up and sent him to the ground quickly.
Some shots were fired somewhere. Not in Eru’s direction yet. All the gang members and patrons got stuck in the middle as the gangs pushed towards each other. Blood could be seen everywhere and cries of pain were heard over the still playing music blasting through the speakers. No one was around Eru and Charmalina anymore as they were by the door and went through the doors into the night.
“That wasn’t so bad” Charmalina half laughed. “There could be people outside looking for a fight too. Follow me and I have a vehicle a few blocks away we can use.”
Eru didn’t feel like waiting for a bus. He might as well go with her and learn about what his job would be he thought. He was sure that is why she wanted to sit down and talk about.
It was a long wait for this installment! The plot thickens!
cool…. a good-looking, fighting council agent. Eru must be happy 🙂
I’m excited to read more, it’s been a well anticipated wait, keep it going.
