“Let’s go quick,” Basq commanded to the the group as he got back. A strike of lightning lit up the hill momentarily. No one was on the hill yet that they could see. “The guards will be checking here soon, if we are lucky they will be a little slow just assuming the storm caused it”
They scampered out onto the hill trying to run up it as quick as possible. The grass and mud was slippery. Each step would slide a little backwards. The rain pounded their faces making it tough to see far ahead. Another bolt of lightning went across the sky lighting the hill up with them on it.
Stopping and laying on the ground they hoped to conceal themselves. Guards could be heard shouting at each other running towards the guard tower to find out why communications had gone down.
Eru crawled his way up the hill followed by others. The hill was too steep and slippery here to walk up. He dug his elbows into the ground slowly snaking his way up to the top. They finally arrived at the top, dripping mud and water everywhere. Running along a wall they found a door. Just as they were about to open the door alarms started going off. Clunk, Clank they heard the door locking itself.
“Now what?” Charmalina asked.
“I don’t think they saw us,” Eru commented.
“I know,” Basq replied, “I think it is from the power outage we caused or something else is happening.” Basq saw a window and looked at it curiously. “It’s not in full lock down yet, we can get in through the window. Give me a lift.”
They hoisted him up and he took out some long metal tool and got the window open. Pushing him up higher he climbed into the window. Charmalina was next and easily scrambled in with Eru lifting her. She turned around and held her arms out of the window. Eru tried to see how high he could jump, his fingertips just touched the bottom of the window. Suddenly Charmalina left the window and Eru was stuck outside.
He was beginning to worry what was happening when he heard a loud thunk followed by a muffled thump. Seconds later a rope came out of the window.
Charmalina appeared again, “Sorry about that grab the rope and we’ll help you climb in.”
Eru jumped up again grabbing onto the rope. It wasn’t a very strong one, he hoped it wouldn’t break before he got up to the edge. With help from the rope he pulled himself up and reached for the edge and went inside.
It was dark in here too but alarms were still going off. He was glad he was inside out of the rain. His eyes adjusted to the darkness and he saw they made quite a mess with mud everywhere. He saw a guard’s body in the corner of the room.
“That was our problem that we had to deal with before we could get you in,” Charmalina let Eru know.
She and Basq had taken off their outerwear and put some drier shoes on. The shoes weren’t dry but they weren’t as muddy or heavy as their other ones. They put their dirty clothes in a pile on top of the guard. real estate websites list Eru changed as well. He wasn’t dry but he felt lighter now without the soaked clothes on.
“We better hurry to somewhere else,” Basq urged everyone on. “That guard will miss his check in time soon and they will know someone came inside here.” He closed the window and the storm wasn’t as noisy except for the thunder that still roared frequently.
“Where to?” Eru asked.
“We have to find Brown and not get detected by the guards. I have an idea of where he will be. Come on.” Basq replied. They followed him staying close behind and checking the corners slowly.
Keep up the good work. I wish the episodes were longer and came more often;)
Really visual. I can easily depict what’s happening. I loved that last 2 episodes.
